The Competition Commission of India (“CCI”), vide Press Release No. 86/2025-26,[1] dated November 25, 2025, has approved the proposed acquisition of 100% (hundred percent) shareholding of Jhajjar Power Limited (“Target Company”) by Jindal Jhajjar Power Limited (“Acquirer”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Jindal Power Limited.
Details of the Proposed Combination
- The transaction involves the complete acquisition of the Target Company by the Acquirer.
- The Target Company is a direct subsidiary of Jindal Power Limited, which is active in power generation, including thermal power production.
- The Target Company is also engaged in thermal power generation.
Regulatory Outcome
The CCI has granted its approval for the transaction under the Competition Act, enabling the parties to proceed with the proposed combination.
