GIFT City Update – FAQs on the IFSCA IBC and OEC Regulations, 2022

On February 06, 2025, the International Financial Services Centres Authority (“IFSCA”), issued certain Frequently Asked Questions (“FAQs”)[1] on the IFSCA (Setting up and Operation of International Branch Campuses and Offshore Education Centres) Regulations, 2022 (“IBC and OEC Regulations”).

The FAQs provide an overview of the IBC and OEC Regulations, which outline the framework for foreign universities and educational institutions to establish International Branch Campuses (IBC) and Offshore Education Centres (OEC) within the GIFT International Financial Services Centre (GIFT IFSC). These FAQs cover key aspects such as eligibility criteria, registration processes, fees, compliance, and student protections.
